My father was a very engaging storyteller. My mother attributed the great number of dinner invitations they received to his entertainment value. As his daughter my job was to keep my mouth shut, pay attention and listen up. Years later I realized that when my father made us kids his captive audience he was showing me how to tell the stories that live inside me.
